About The Fox

THE FOX NOW

Meet the Owners

We’re Jamie and Kirsty, the proud new Landlord and Landlady of The Fox at Lyng. When The Fox came under new ownership in April 2026, we were delighted to take on this much-loved village pub and begin an exciting new chapter. As a local family with three wonderful boys, we’ve decided to follow our shared passion for hospitality and bring our experience, enthusiasm and personal touch to the heart of the community.

Both of us have spent many years working within the hospitality industry. More recently, Jamie ran his own taxi business, while Kirsty worked as a Finance and Administration Assistant at a local nursery. Now, we’re delighted to be returning to what we love most and welcoming guests to The Fox.

Our aim is to run the pub with a strong community focus, building on the excellent standards established by the previous tenants while introducing a few ideas and touches of our own. One of the things we loved most about The Fox was its role at the heart of village life, with popular events such as quiz nights, live music and street food evenings bringing people together.

We are committed to maintaining the success of these much-loved events while continuing to grow our offering for private functions and celebrations, all without disrupting the welcoming day-to-day atmosphere that makes The Fox so special.

We also look forward to continuing our support of local suppliers by serving fresh, locally sourced produce, seasonal menus and a great selection of local beers.

A BRIEF HISTORY

Old Pub, New Beginnings

The Fox at Lyng has been welcoming locals and visitors for centuries. Originally known as The Fox & Hounds, the pub is believed to date back to around 1710 and has long been part of village life in Lyng, nestled within Norfolk’s beautiful Wensum Valley. Historical records show the inn trading throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, serving the local community and travellers passing through the area. In 2014, the pub underwent a significant refurbishment and reopened as The Fox, blending its traditional character – including exposed beams, open fires and classic country pub charm – with a fresh new chapter. Today, The Fox continues its proud heritage as a welcoming Norfolk pub and restaurant at the heart of the village.
